13 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Forget the Others - I Am on Team Joe By Toni W. I had so much fun reading Joe Vampire. You do not need to be into vampires to enjoy this book. It is a laugh-out-loud page turner.Author Steven Luna's casual narrative style makes Joe's blog that much more believable. Joe at his worst is still adorably lovable. Other more high profile fictional vampires have nothing on Joe. It is Joe's flaws, struggles, frustrations and humor that make him so appealing.The book's casual blog style doesn't mean it's not well written. It is so well written that I became totally invested in Joe's crazy life and his heart-breaking but incredibly hilarious challenges. I highly recommend this book.

By Jesse Freeman The most original take on vampires I've read in years is the book Mr. Steven Luna crafted, Mr. Joe Vampire his'self! It's funny, dark, character-driven, complex and just plain real. Luna focused on how much it could suck (not literally, well - kinda literally) to suddenly get changed into a vampire and didn't focus on all the sparkly, clingy, watch teenage girls in their sleep aspects of another series that I don't think I have to mention. If anything ruined vampires, it was that awful mess - if anything might save it, it's Joe Vampire.
7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Joe Vampire Blog - 3.5 stars! By Granny Gems Joe blogs about becoming a vampire. But that's not what the story is about. It is actually his coming to terms with his life and living it, rather than letting it live him. It's an interesting concept the author has here, odd , but interesting! I liked that it was less about the classic, hunky or gorgeous, killer vampires and more about how an accidental vampire would deal with the suckiness of being undead. I read the whole thing, and many times, chuckled at the imagery and humor. Not what I was expecting at all, but definitely worth the read.
