By msynergy A very pleasant continuation on a several part set of books that are modern day Pride and Prejudice with believable nice characters, real affection, real understanding of family differences and new twists on the story that kept my interest throughout. The comedy was well written and enjoyable for P and P fans, too. Made me feel happy as I read. If that is the mood you need... this series of books is for you.
7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. A Nice New Variation By Yiayia Online A story set in more modern times with a totally new perspective of Elizabeth and Darcy. I found it a delightful alternative to usual plots about the pair. As a novella, it reads quickly in a stand alone book of a series. I was left with a pleasant feeling at the end of the book.
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. How to plan a wedding without Mrs. Bennet By Deborah I loved this story by Barbara Silkstone. Even though it is part 4 in the series it works very well as a stand alone; I haven't read or listened to the others yet. As Lizzy and Jane prepare for Jane and Bingley's wedding they must keep Mrs. Bennet from ruining Jane's plans. Lizzie has a cellphone picture of Lydia and Mrs. Bennet in a hilarious position (positively one that they wouldn't want seen). How she uses it is genius. And how they conspire to keep Mrs. Bennet in the dark and get her to the wedding is so funny. I chuckled all the way through the book. Boris is most definitely a favorite character of mine. He, in my opinion, becomes the hero of the story. Karen Krause brought out nuances of the story that I might have missed, with her pronunciation and emphasis on phrases, had I read the story. I highly recommend the audio book as well as the story.I was given a copy of the audio book in exchange for my honest review
