Understanding the DASH diet to lower blood pressure and maintain a healthy weight By excellentwheels I am definitely a health nut and therefore I am always looking for new and improved ways of staying healthy. I recently heard a lot about the DASH diet and its ability to lower blood pressure and consequently bad cholesterol as well. I’m not so much interested in the diet for its weight loss capabilities. Although I’m a huge fan of maintaining a healthy weight so that I can stay is light and flexible as possible. The DASH diet is nice simply because it is an easy diet to integrate into one’s lifestyle and the recipes contained within the pages of this book are rather tasty, so it makes the diet easier to stick to. Although this diet may not necessarily be for everyone as there are a lot of people that do not like huge amounts of fruits and vegetables in their diet. For whatever reason, whether it has to do with allergies or just taste preferences. If this is the case for you then again, this diet may not suit your needs very well at all. But as for myself I love fruits and vegetables, so increasing my consumption on a daily basis was not much of a hardship.I found the information contained in this book to be straightforward and easy to understand, which made it even easier to integrate into my daily routine and diet as well as my healthy eating habits. I am looking forward to the next time I go to the doctors to see if my blood pressure has really come down a significant amount as the book suggests.So if you are looking to lower your blood pressure, lose some weight, as well as maintaining a healthy diet, then this DASH diet informational cookbook might be just what you need to add a boost to your healthy lifestyle. I first heard of it a couple of weeks ago and was curious to learn more about it. The book helped me to learn more about the DASH diet and how it works. It showed me how to set up good eating plans, offered ways to improve my health and to speed up the weight loss process if wanted to lose or maintain my weight. It's very well written and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about the DASH Diet
