The author states, and, in my opinion, rightly so, that diet is 80% of your results (90% if you are over 40). But if that is true, wouldn't you want a diet that you could live with for life?I look at this book a little like dating...there are red flags all over the place. But the end result is so appealing that you ignore them all because it will be different for you. This is your diet partner for life. So why am I cynical and what are my red flags?This is how the book is laid out: p 1-15 is her story (no problems there); p 16-36 is a discussion of the supplements (generic) that are crucial for weight loss (I know, right? 20 pages of supplements to take for life?); p 37-84 is a description of her particular line of supplements that you must use to achieve the results because the other lines are not quality products and will not work; p 85-122 the outline of the diet which is very low fat, very specific proteins (no beef) and vegetables; p 123-148 the history of serving sizes and foods you should never eat (including sweet potatoes?); p 149-170 the workout program; p 171-202 misc issues including spirituality; and finally, 203-263 are recipes.Are you seeing the red flags? Approximately 1/3 of the book is discussing supplements or her particular line of supplements. And in numerous places in the book, she states that you should use her products for one reason or another. Then the diet is effectively a low calorie, virtually no fat diet. I don't see where this stops. So the rest of my life I have to walk 60 minutes a day and eat 1200 calories of tasteless food and spend a huge amount of money on supplements, lean bars and her specific line of whey protein that I have to have for breakfast?It may work, but I enjoy life way too much to be that restrictive and have to depend on a specific line of products. I am not even that heavy...I am just edging into the time of life that is hard to keep the weight off. What kind of living is this?

I was excited to buy the book because I read a profile of Lisa in a local paper. However, now that I read the book, the diet to me seems like a glorified Slim Fast. Although it keeps saying it is for people who "love food," the food options are very limited, especially if you are not a fish eater, and you are highly encouraged to drink her shakes and eat her protein bars for breakfast and lunch. There are also so many other supplements you should buy and take, and they only should be the ones Lisa sells under her brand. LynFit. These are hawked on almost every page. There is very little variety and it is all very regimented, so if you can't eat at home most of the time or don't want a shake for 1 or 2 meals a day, it is very limited. There is also no plan for after you've lost weight. I am very disappointed. I was hoping for a realistic, healthy diet, and one that did not require the purchasing of 10 different products. I am sure the diet would work if you could stick with it (and had a lot of money) because it is very low in calories.

By Susan Malatich-Asack You need $245.00 to buy all of her supplements which are of major importance to the plan. I paid $20.00 for a book that is mainly an ad for Lyn's products. There isn't even an index in the book to assist you in finding a particular recipe.
