The Wonderful World of Raw Food By Lilikins I was hearing all about this diet from a friend who was introduced to it on her travels in Australia and she was raving about her incredible energy levels and how amazing her skin was on this diet. I immediately thought, "OK so you eat carrot sticks and celery all day!"My interest was however piqued and so I grabbed this Sophie Miller book to find out more. Cooking destroys vitamins and prolonged cooking can even create carcinogens, so eating raw makes sense logically. I must admit I had never thought of eating asparagus, cauliflower, squash or mushrooms raw. But other than fruits and raw veg, you can have honey, tahini (my personal fav), nuts, grains, olives and oils. Alcohol, yoghurt, all breads and sugary food/drink are TABOO on this diet, which makes sense, I mean sugar is the devil incarnate.What will amaze you is the variety of meals you can have on this diet: sure salads and cold soups, but get this...Veggie Pizza with Almond Crust, Raw Sprouted Lentil Burgers, carrot falafal,vegan sushi and and Spicy pad Thai. Lovely photos will really get the taste buds buzzing. I made the carrot, cashew and ginger soup right away - gorgeous.I am now quite excited and will be introducing these raw recipes 2 days a week. I plan to do this diet at least 5 days a week in summer as TBH it's too hot to cook in summer anyway.Excellent, user friendly and informative.

So into paleo, raw food, keto, and every other lifestyle diet, if only to learn about the physiology behind it all an experiment with my body. This is a great intro book to raw food, and I can definitely see how it would benefit people, especially because of the intro and history of it all. So many benefits that I learned about such as boosting brain power and fighting off diseases!Easy recipes too!

Something for everyone By June Barnwell Whether you are a raw foodie or just want to get more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet, this book has something for everyone. The salads were awesome, and it was refreshing to see that there were no dessert recipes, just lots of light, healthy food that is delicious. Great for a newbie or someone looking for something a little different. Recommended.
