About the Author Bestselling author Sherry Everett has published books in many different genres, including cooking, dieting, children’s fiction, children’s nonfiction and two nonfiction books regarding ways to make money. Sherry recently lost 25 pounds, which prompted her to write this book, the first in a series of three books on Gluten Free Weight Loss Cookbooks. On her own words, Sherry “has to write and never wants to stop learning and writing.” From her youth Sherry has had many hobbies, among them reading and writing. It starts with the basics that you would expect, but delivers some VERY useful bonus material that I haven't seen in other gluten-free recipe books. The basics I like:1) It summarizes some of the benefits of gluten-free eating, including eliminating skin and hair problems from inflammation.2) It offers easy alternative grains to wheat and the other grains that contain gluten (did you know buckwheat is gluten-free?), including several gluten-free flours that I did not know about.The Bonus Material that makes this book exceptional:1) 30 Snacks To Help Flatten Your Belly section. It's a great list of smart ideas to trim some calories from your daily diet by making simple substitutions. Very smart and very useful!2) 20 Snacks That Don't Need Cooking! Every busy person needs this.Plus, there are a LOT of recipes, including gluten-free desserts.As a professional nutrition counselor, I go through a ton of gluten-free cookbooks. By Marjorie Kramer The two kinds of diets that I toy with (because they seem like such good ideas!) are the Paleo diet and the gluten-free diet. The bottom line for me is that whatever points me in the right direction of eating cleanly and keeping junk away is a good idea. I really like this book. It's got some really interesting recipes. My favorite parts are the two lists, "30 Snack to Help Flatten Your Belly," and "20 Snacks That Don't Need Cooking." Now you're talking my language!

I found a lot of great information in this book about the gluten free lifestyle, plus some amazing recipes. The first recipe I made was the Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Breakfast Bake. I will definitely be making that again. Everyone in my family LOVED it! Also loved the Mozza Basil Zucchini Frittata. Can't wait to try others. I was worried that eating gluten free would be boring, but now I know it won't be. Thanks!
