Alde This book was written by Dorothy Whitehill about one hundred years ago, and it is very typical for the times with its simplistic look at the life of rich young girls. Because I was somewhat addicted to the genre, I felt very lucky when I found most of the series (I own the first 8 books) at a garage sale in the 1960's. Although several of them had damaged covers, I have kept them all these years but they are packed away somewhere, and I have not looked at them in ages. But I was intrigued to find them on Kindle because there they are always in great shape.To explain the description "simplistic," maybe if Amazon publishes the remainder of the series, you will get a chance to read the best example for that in "Polly Sees the World at War" in which Polly helps catch a German spy just prior to or at the beginning of the First World War.In spite of such minor shortcomings it is interesting to see how (rich) people lived at the beginning of the 20th century.
