By Crystal E This book is well laid out, ingredient list and instruction list or formatted to be easy to read like a normal recipe book. I did run into some typos however, and the ones I found are a bit disturbing. Under "cooking time" many of them say "0 minutes", but the instructions tell you to bake them. The only thing in her recipes I would caution you on is not to turn your Chia seeds, flax seeds, hempseed's, into powder before adding to your bars for two reasons:1. Ground or powdered seeds lose their nutrient potency within an hour after being chopped up, especially flax. If you can't eat all the bars in the recipe within the hour, you've wasted the nutrient value of the seeds you put in, so use them whole.2. Whole fiberous seeds (chia, flax, hemp) have more a more useful fiber effect. When powdered, the body doesn't have to work to break things down because it's already broken down. So again, keep your seeds whole.Cooking anything that is basically fiber turns fiber into carbohydrates, because heat breaks fiber down. So go for the non-cooked bars if you can. Some additional advice, go easy on the hempseed…Even though it theoretically does not have THC, (less than 1%, I think) in some people it can create the same "munchies" effect as marijauna, which it is related to. (I happen to be one of those people)It truly is not a good idea for your protein bars to increase your appetite, when a major point of eating them is to decrease it.

Then this book will help you satiate your craving for them. This book not only fulfilled my dream of eating protein bars but also helped me in starting a protein-bar revolution in our group! It clearly distinguished what kind of protein powder is right for me; and, moreover, it took me from being a newbie to being a pro in just 31 recipes. The steps are written in a clear and easy-to-understand manner without the confusing terms. If you also love eating delicious food and still stay fit and healthy, this book will help you realize that dream. Included here are vegan protein bar recipes and a gluten-free one, too. This book is very brief without the unnecessary information that we don’t need. What’s the price compared to the lifelong benefits I could get from this book?

Kind of like when we went gluten free--the recipes call for all kinds of expensive ingredients. After spending probably $75 to $100 on these, we discovered that substituting rice flour in place of the wheat flour in normal recipes gives better results than using all the expensive ingredients (and we can make rice flour ourselves).
